Couples Therapy
When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.
— Paulo Coelho
Couples seek therapy for a variety of reasons, including:
feeling unhappy, unheard, hopeless, helpless, or unappreciated
increased conflict and feeling as if fights are never resolved
struggling to communicate and difficulties in managing differences
decreased physical, emotional, or sexual intimacy
previous betrayal or infidelity or difficulties moving forward from the past
worry about a lack of love or respect within the relationship
feelings of resentment or disconnection
parenting concerns, health or life changes, financial disagreements, or other family and life stressors.
If you want to increase your sense of understanding of and connection to one another, rebuild your sense of trust and safety within your relationship, or find new ways of communicating with and responding to your spouse or partner, couples therapy can help! In therapy I can help you develop new skills for resolving conflict, managing long-term problems or differences, find new ways of caring for yourselves and each other, and determine how, of even if, to move forward in your relationship. I can also help you navigate how to balance family time, couple time, and time to yourself.
I work with couples of all ages from a variety of diverse backgrounds. This includes diverse sexual orientations and genders, a variety of relationship styles or structures, and a wide range of religious and political beliefs. I do have additional training in assessing and treating sexual concerns both individually and relationally. I have completed Gottman Level 1 Training.
